Morton Philips Supports Appointment of New CEO for Foodbank SA & NT

Morton Philips was privileged to partner with Foodbank SA & NT in the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer, helping secure a leader whose values, experience and community focus align strongly with the organisation's mission.

Following a comprehensive executive search process, Foodbank SA & NT appointed its new CEO - Mr Ben Scales, bringing more than 20 years of leadership experience across the sport, recreation and local government sectors. Throughout the recruitment process, the Board sought a highly capable executive with a demonstrated ability to lead through change, build strong stakeholder relationships and guide an organisation with significant community impact.

Ben's career reflects a deep commitment to strengthening communities. From leading teams through major challenges, including drought, the COVID-19 pandemic and the River Murray floods, to delivering long-term outcomes in regional South Australia, his experience stood out as highly relevant to Foodbank's growing role in supporting vulnerable individuals and families.

As demand for food relief continues to increase across South Australia and the Northern Territory, Foodbank required a leader capable of balancing operational excellence with strategic growth, innovation and partnership development. Morton Philips worked closely with the Board throughout the search and selection process to identify and engage high-calibre candidates from across the market.
