After 1,160kms over the course of seven days, the Mercer SuperCycle arrived at its Adelaide finish line on Saturday (March 24th) afternoon. Beginning in Melbourne and culminating in Adelaide, the SuperCycle took its competitors through picturesque surroundings in Sorrento, Geelong, Apollo Bay, Port Fairy, Mount Gambier, Robe, and Meningie.
Morton Philips would like to thank everyone who has donated to The Hospital Research Foundation. The total funds raised for the building of accommodation at Bowden for country cancer patients receiving treatment in Adelaide was $350,000. We are thrilled with the impact this ride has made.
Managing Director, Phil Morton, would especially like to thank the Mercer SuperCycle volunteers and support crew, who performed incredibly with the logistics to ensure everyone was thought of, and safety being the number one priority.
The volunteers, support crew, the sponsors, and organisers are to be congratulated on pulling together a well-run and very professional event. Safety was number one priority and all returned home without incident.
All supporters have played a part in the massive $350,000 total and should be proud. The Morton Philips team are humbled to think that we are able to make a difference to families in this way at a most crucial time in their lives. Never losing sight of the cause through the whole event, the Morton Philips team have been privileged to be involved and witness the human spirit in action.
